Why is it that the "great masters" are usually in the same category? For instance...you meet a forty five year old woman at the grocery in line for the check-out...she has some really great looking king cake so a conversation is sparked...she finds out you're an art history major..she asks who is your favorite artists...you say.."well, I don't really have a favorite.". With a look of disbelief she slips in that she has always loved the works of Michelangelo. Well, while Michelangelo is incredible, what about the stunning works of Matisse and Kandinsky!!! We all need to make a pledge to educate and share the beauty of abstraction! Here is my first step in educating the world about the excitement, vibrancy, and dynamism of abstract art!
